School History

Hopewell Baptist Academy was founded in 2001 and is a Christian school for grades K-4 through 12. Though many people have the idea that a Christian school is a kind of reform school for delinquent children, or just another private school, they are mistaken. HBA is neither of these. HBA is a  Christ-centered, Bible-based, Christian school with the goal of helping you raise your children to reach their fullest potential physically, spiritually, and academically.

Doctrinal Statement

As a ministry of Hopewell Baptist Church, Hopewell Baptist Academy holds without apology to the church's statement of faith. A copy is available upon request. Hopewell is a seperated, non-charismatic, missions-minded, independent, fundamental, soul winning, Baptist church.

Objectives in Christian Education
Our objectives in the education of your children are as follows:

1. To prepare young people to stand before the Lord one day by training them to be all that a Christian should be. (Every other objective will revolve around this purpose.)

2. To operate as an extension of the Christian home. To be successful, the major influences in a young person's life (home, church, and school) must be consistant in their direction and approach of training youth. All three should be in accordance with the Word of God.

3. To give thorough training for young people in their development of Christian character. The key to development is building a foundation by training one to be obedient, after which all other qualities of Christian character can be learned and practiced.

4. To exert young people to develop internal discipline by having sufficient external discipline and control so as to train them to have self-control.

5. To train young people to achieve mastery in their skills and academic proficiency. Because HBA is Christian, we have an obligation to offer the best education possible.

6. To train young people to get along with themselves and with others.

7. To provide leadership for the next generation by equipping today's youth for tomorrow's needs.

8. To develop a sense of responsibility in each young person as a Christian citizen.
